Mia Mottley’s words about reparations made me think about one word: repair. As someone born in the U.S. Virgin Islands, I believe we cannot build a stronger future without honestly confronting the history that shaped the Caribbean. Reparations aren’t simply about what is owed—they’re about acknowledging what happened, understanding what remains, and asking what meaningful repair should look like for generations to come.
